Beginning with Spain, in Valencia, 23 to 27 September for Textilhogar within the Spanish furniture show, and then back in Italy for the second appointment with the major boat show in Genoa, 4 to 12 October. .

A significant ‘fashion show’ for Genoa
During Genoa’s trade fair event dedicated to the boating world, Spaziale Splendy and the Giglio Bagnara store organized a fashion show to introduce the new 2009 collection of bathrobes, featuring ethnic themes and Africa. On the evening of Friday, October 10, in the sumptuous spaces of the Foyer store in Corso Roma, Genoa, the new bathrobe examples in pure microfiber and decorated with the “animalier” themes of zebra, snake and feline skins, were paraded before a very “high level” public selected from the best clientele of this historic Ligurian specialist textile retailer. The initiative represented the official launch of cooperation between Spaziale Splendy and Giglio Bagnara: a partnership that will guarantee top-level distribution of this bathrobe example of hi-tech and style also in the Genoese area.

Spaziale Splendy among the pre-chosen for the La Rinascente and Crystallized™-Swarovski Elements initiative
At Christmas, in the Rinascente Duomo department store in Milan, Italian consumers plus the immense international clientele of our country’s most important shop, will be able to find 50 gift ideas, created in limited editions and exclusively for Italy, from the more important brand names in fashion and design, which use crystal marked “Crystallized™-Swarovski Elements”. And of course they include Spaziale Splendy bathrobes with an ad hoc model and in limited numbers. To be among the brands selected by Swarovski to represent the best of world-wide creativity (the Austrian brand will also develop a similar initiative in the Saks chain, in the United States’ most important retailers) that use the purity of the world’s most famous crystal, is a great honor and demonstrates that Spaziale Splendy is by now a reference point for fashion and innovation in the field of textile complements for home and person.

A Spaziale stand at Immagine Italia&Co. in Florence
In February, G.I.L.’s stand at the Florence fair – currently Italy’s most important exhibition of household linen and intimate apparel – impressed the large number of visitors who thronged to the event. A brand new, large, modern stand (more than 100 square metres), perfect for presenting the new additions to the Spaziale Splendy collections for 2009. The rounded shape and the large themes arranged around the perimeter walls effectively illustrated the vast size and quality of the range of bathrobes G.I.L. offers its clientele and the end user. Naturally, the prime focus of attention was the new Africa 2009 together with the Viceversa bathrobes: the two jewels in the crown of the Spaziale Splendy range. But plenty of space was also devoted to the immense range of whole colours, the sophisticated masculine pin-stripe of the City line, and the charming teddy-bears that provide the new pack for the children’s lines. The new stand proved very popular with the clientele and was a further step forward in the establishment of Spaziale Splendy as a leading, trendsetting brand in the high-tech bathrobe sector.

Oeko-Tex Certification: consumer guarantees from Spaziale Splendy
Since December 2008 all G.I.L. products in the Spaziale Splendy collections have been authorised to carry the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 mark, which guarantees – further to tests at the Centro Tessile Cotoniero – that the products examined are completely free of all health hazards. This is a major value-added factor, improving consumer confidence and enhancing the brand’s image of transparency and superiority. In other words, the Spaziale Splendy Collection is not just a concentrated blend of fashion and leading-edge technology. All garments have excellent anti-bacteria and anti-fungus properties and are produced in full compliance with the regulations governing production processes and their impact on the use of the garments produced in contact with the skin. Spaziale Splendy and Big Brother
Some TV events have shaped the recent history of television. Without a doubt, one of them is Big Brother, the progenitor of all the reality shows broadcast on TV. The format may be loved and loathed in equal measure, but it is undeniably capable of attracting millions of viewers’ attention, even after years of showing. A programme of this kind leaves nothing to chance, and the fact that Spaziale Splendy bathrobes were chosen as the only type supplied to all participants on the Italian version of the show speaks volumes about the quality, performance and style of the 2009 collection of “drying garments”. Spaziale Splendy at the G8: chosen to represent Italian innovation
The meeting of the world’s major leaders from the G8 at L’Aquila was a major opportunity for demonstrating that Italy is still an inexhaustible source of creativity, invention and manufacturing excellence. Amongst the leading Italian brands in fashion, clothing, textiles and comfort in general, G.I.L. and its Spaziale Splendy® robes were also chosen by the summit’s organisers to represent the best of quality domestic output. The move was further recognition of the genius and innovation of Emilio Mina, inventor of the robe in pure microfibre non-woven fabric, and the unique, unbeatable quality of the G.I.L. – Spaziale Splendy® collections.
Viceversa line robes and Spaziale Splendy® accessories were supplied to all the Heads of State and Government, their delegations, and all the journalists attending the summit. Special packs, marked with their initials (which also appeared on the robes presented to them), were produced for the world’s leaders.

Spaziale Splendy and Coin
With a stunning display in the store on Milan’s P.zza V Giornate, the Spaziale Splendy bathrobe lines have made their entry into Coin, one of Italy’s most successful, highest quality retail chains. The collection was presented in the Milan store (a kind of pilot store and showroom for the chain) from May, in a move which is a major sign of the success of the collection, and above all of the Milan-based brand, already widely established as undisputed leader in the high-tech, innovative bathrobes sector.
